How to Measure size for Pandora Bead Bracelets
If you are getting a new bracelet for either yourself, or someone near to you and it’s not intended to be a big surprise, then the simplest way to measure is to take a tape measure and wrap it around the wrist. You can’t really go wrong with something as simple as this (at least you shouldn’t be able to). Make sure the tape is flat and not twisted, and place it around the widest part of the wrist. For a not too loose fit add on an extra two centimeters. You have to allow space for the charms so in general if you can slip your finger between the bracelet and wrist it should be large enough to accommodate any number of Pandora Charms.
Some people like to take their bracelets on and off without having to undo the clasps. If that’s what you prefer, then you would need to measure the broadest part of the hand, and add a little extra on here too so that the bracelet slips on and off the hand easily. Personally I prefer the bracelets with a more snug fit and I use the clasps to take the bracelet on and off. If you are giving the bracelet as a gift, you may need to do a little ’sleuth work’ to see what type of bracelet the person you’re giving it to prefers. Sometimes you can figure out their preference just by watching what sort of bracelet they wear, other times you might have to strike up a conversation about this.
What if you’re planning the bracelet to be a surprise?
Either you have to somehow make up an reason for wanting a person’s wrist measure, measure their wrist when they’re sound asleep and are not likely to wake up and catch you doing so, or make a good guess on the size. Apparently the most common length ordered for women is around 19 cm. It is also a good idea, when you buy the bracelet, to make sure that you are able to return it should the bracelet end up being too big. Most jewelry shops will allow you to do so, so hang onto the receipt that you receive when you buy it. Without that, they may not be willing to exchange the bracelet for one of another size.
And, if you’re speculating, Pandora charm bracelets come in seven different sizes, from 16 cm all the way to 23 cms in length. Young girls usually start off with the smaller sizes. As mentioned above, 19 cm is the most popular size for most women. If you’re trying to determine someones wrist size without their knowing about it, be imaginative. Perhaps you can enlist the help of someone else, have another female compare wrists or offer to try on one of her bracelets and so on. It’s always a challenge trying to remain secretive when working out a surprise gift, but a little ingenuity and getting a little help from your friends, makes it easier.
Once you have the bracelet, then you need to decide whether to add charms to it, or how many charms to add. Generally, you could start off by adding three beads to the bracelet. It will still look nice, even with just a few charms on it and they’ll stay in place, nicely and evenly spaced. You really can’t go wrong buying a Pandora Charm Bracelet for that special someone in your life.
